The Life Goals of Jesus
Christ

1. SAY & SPEAK
John 12:49 - “For I have not spoken on my own
authority; but the FATHER who sent me gave me a command, what I should
SAY and what I should SPEAK!”
Greek Definition of SAY/SPEAK: answer, bid, bring
word, call, command, grant, speak, tell.
Are we willing to speak what the Holy Spirit speaks
to our spirits when HE gives us the unction to do so? To step out in
faith and courage so that JESUS may be glorified.
2. HEAR
John 8:47 – “He who is of GOD, hears God’s
words, therefore you do not HEAR because you are not of GOD.”
Greek definition of HEAR: hear, give audience,
understand.
We hear thousands of sounds daily, the most important
being the voice of GOD! If the sound of the voice of the LORD is not the
most important sound you hear daily….why not?
3. DO
John 4:34 – “JESUS said to them, ‘My food is to
DO the will of HIM who sent me, and to finish HIS work.’”
Greek Definition of DO: abide, cause, commit,
continue without delay, perform, provide, work, ordain, purpose,
execute, fulfill, give.
A friend and I were traveling from Canada back to
Oregon and we stopped in Marysville, Washington at a small fellowship of
believers. A teenage girl came up to me and asked me to pray for her.
Cautiously she shared that she had been diagnosed with epilepsy, which
meant she couldn’t drive, which meant she couldn’t work.
Discouragement was the garment she was wearing. I asked her name.
“Jade” she replied. As
I have no answers of my own, I asked the LORD, what about this? HE said
clearly, “Misdiagnosis.” So, I shared with Jade what the LORD had
said and suggested that she go back to the doctor for another test. The
LORD asked me to give Jade the sterling silver rose ring that I was
wearing as a reminder that the LORD had met her in that place. Tears
filled her eyes and spilled down her cheeks. “My middle name is
Rose,” she whispered. A few weeks later an email arrived confirming
the word of the LORD that she was misdiagnosed and there was no evidence
of epilepsy. GLORY TO GOD!
It is just about JESUS and what HE has for HIS
people. To hear the voice of the LORD and speak what HE is saying to
bring encouragement and hope to the discouraged and lost.
4. SEEK
John 5:30 – “I can of myself do nothing. As I
hear, I judge; and my judgment is righteous because I do not SEEK my own
but the will of the FATHER who sent me.”
Greek Definition of SEEK: desire, endeavor, seek
after. Hebrew Definition of SEEK: to worship.
Are you a God Seeker? Does HIS presence fill your
life more than any other presence? Are you the most comfortable in the
presence of GOD or the presence of others? Is your heart and spirit
riveted to HIS will?
5. PLEASE
John 8:29 – “And HE who sent me is with me, The
FATHER has not left me alone, For I always do those things that PLEASE
HIM!”
Greek Definition of PLEASE: To be agreeable
Are we GOD pleasers or people pleasers? It is easy to
tell. Do you care more about what GOD thinks about what you are doing or
saying or do you care more about what people think about what you are
doing or saying? It is a matter of the heart.
6. KEEP HIS WORD
John 8:55 – “Yet you have not known HIM, but, I
know HIM. And if I say, I do not know HIM, I shall be a liar, like
you…..but I do know HIM and KEEP HIS WORD.”
Greek definition of KEEP: to guard from loss, keeping
an eye on it, to hold fast.
We have been given the Holy Bible with the Gospel of
JESUS CHRIST as a guide for righteous holy living. Just a few minutes a
day reading the Scriptures, trusting the revelation of the Holy Spirit and
experiencing the
presence of GOD will make such a huge difference in your life!
7. KNOW THE FATHER
John 10:15 – “As the FATHER knows me, even so I
KNOW the FATHER, and I lay down my life for the sheep.”
Greek definition of KNOW: to understand, to have
knowledge, to be aware of, to be resolved, to perceive.
Do you know the FATHER? Do you know the SON, JESUS?
Do you know the HOLY SPIRIT? They are always available 24/7!
8. FINISH THE WORK
John 17:4 – “I have glorified you on earth, I
have finished the work which you have given me to do.”
Greek Definition of FINISH: accomplish, complete,
fulfill, make perfect. Greek Definition of WORK: deed, labor, occupation.
Jesus did not use the terminology of "I
feel" as a motivation for his obedience unto HIS FATHER. It was not
about his personal human feelings, it was about immediate obedience. My
friend Charles Fletcher says it this way, "You cannot out logic
emotion." It is only when we submit our soul (mind, will and
emotions) and our flesh to the Spirit of the Living GOD are we
positioned to walk in obedience to HIM. Most of us have difficulty finishing simple household
tasks let alone doing something GOD asks. We need to practice
discipline so that when the LORD requests something of us, we will be
accountable to finish the task for HIS GLORY!
9. SEE
John 5:19 –“And JESUS answered and said to them,
most assuredly, I say to you the son can do nothing of HIMSELF, but what
HE sees the FATHER do, for whatever HE does, The Son also does in like
manner.”
Greek Definition of SEE: discern, consider, perceive,
look on, behold.
A few of years ago one of my son’s friends died in
a skiing accident. They were fraternity brothers. Shawn said, “Mom, I
have made that same fall 100 times, he should not have died.” When I asked, “Was he a Christian?” Shawn said that he
didn’t know for sure.
Have we come to a place in our lives where we are
willing to risk and willing to love someone else enough to ask the
questions - about salvation, eternal life and JESUS!
Perhaps
you might ask someone today - Do you know JESUS?
