The root of the word integrity is "truth" as the Thummim
in the High Priests garment.
What we are in word, attitude and action, is a living
testimony and we are "known
and read by all men" (2 Corinthians. 3:2). A
"witness" is not just that which is "spoken"; it
is that which is seen. Verses 3: You are those
who are openly shown to be a letter which exhibits Christ (or not),
this letter having been ministered by us, not having been written
with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on stone tablets
but on tablets that are human hearts."
The credibility of our witness of who Jesus is, is lost when a
lack of integrity functions in our lives. The world has heard
too many "Christians" give testimony to a life they are
not living. This problem exists among many of us. People seek
to represent God to others and instead of testifying of His
nature and works, they testify of their own
"religion" and their own often manipulative desires
of self promotion, so then we do not see Jesus. They hear about
church, hear the word sin thrown around, are given opinions on what
evil is, but they do not see the wonder of who Jesus really is, a
God of integrity, kindness, mercy, tenderness, love, a God who
only has righteous judgment.
People must meet the love of Jesus before they will abandon their
love of any other "system" they are following. Paul
tells us that the "name of God is blasphemed among the
Gentiles" because of the life lacking integrity of
those who fail to represent Him (Romans 2:24).
One of the symbols of Light in the Scriptures is the
out-raying purity of our Holy God. When our heart motives and ensuing
actions are pure, the light of God's presence shines through us into
this world. It is with this in mind that Jesus tells us to let our
light shine before men in such a way that they see our good works
and glorify the Father (Matthew 5:16).
Let people see HIM in you before you speak about HIM.
There are Christians who publicly transgress the integrity
of God: they show dishonor to each other, lose their
tempers, are dishonest, do substandard work, they are often
late or heard slandering the people they work for or with, they are
self-aggrandizing. Yet, they feel compelled to give their
"testimony". They profess to know God, but by their deeds
they deny Him (Titus 1:16).
When people see Christ in you, they will see your honesty in
a world where 'little white lies' are accepted, they see your
patience and kindness when you are wronged, your peace during
hardship, your forgiveness when betrayed - they will ask about your
hope.
Walk in the fruit of the Spirit: love, meekness, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, humility, mercy, longsuffering, forgiveness,
loyalty, truth, purity, faith, justice and thankfulness, to
name a few. Without judging (Galatians 5:21-23).
Those who know you will find your life very attractive, for
through your life they will see the holy life of Jesus. "You
don't make your words true by embellishing them with religious lace.
In making your speech sound more religious, it becomes less true.
Just say 'yes' and 'no.' When you manipulate words to get your
own way, you go wrong" (Matthew 5:36-37).
Romans 2:4~ "In kindness He takes us firmly by the hand and
leads us into a radical life change."
You are uniquely distinct, sanctified by your Creator, set apart
as one of His distinguished ones! Keep pressing
into your destiny in Christ! Keep pressing into
HIS glory....
