1.
I
Kings 16
2. I
Kings 16:
31 – Ahab took a wife named Jezebel – and he went and served Baal and
worshipped him.
3.
I Kings 16:33 - Ahab did more to provoke the LORD GOD of Israel to anger than all
the kings of Israel before him.
4.
I
Kings 17 – The LORD raised up Elijah in response to Ahab’s decisions
to worship Baal. GOD will raise up (not men) those with an "Elijah
Mantle" in response to those in
authority who provoke HIS anger by their decisions of unrighteousness,
un-holiness, and idol worship.
Idol worship is defined as worshipping anything or anyone instead of the
MOST HIGH GOD!
How you spend your time and what you think about defines what you
worship. You alone define what or who you worship....no one else. You
can be guaranteed that sooner or later the idol will betray you. Idols
such as alcohol, nicotine, food, occult practices, witchcraft, pagan
gods, control, manipulation, greed, pornography, money, fame, status,
people, possessions....to mention a few.
5.
I Kings 17:1 - 1st Miracle – Drought – The rain stopped. Elijah spoke the
word of the LORD and the rain stopped for 3.5 years.. The LORD empowered Elijah with HIS authority.
6. I
Kings 17:5 – Elijah went and did according to the word of the LORD. He heard.
He obeyed. Obedience sustained his life.
7.
I Kings 17:6 - 2nd Miracle – Fed Bread and Meat by the Ravens – The LORD
spoke to Elijah how he was going to be provided for and Elijah ate what
the LORD provided.
8.
I Kings 17:14 - 3rd Miracle – Fed by the widow (meal and oil). The LORD spoke to
Elijah, then Elijah to the widow. Both of their lives were sustained by
hearing the voice of the LORD and walking in obedience.
9.
I Kings 17:22 - 4th Miracle – Raised child from the dead- took child to Upper
room – separated himself from widow’s unbelief – prayed – heard
voice of the LORD – child restored to mother.
10.
I
Kings 18
11.
I Kings 18:28 – Cutting selves – form of occult, satanic, pagan
god worship.
12.
I Kings 18:38 – 5th Miracle – Consuming Fire of GOD from heaven – burned
from heaven down not earth upward. Means GOD is consuming us from
heaven downward – all was consumed, nothing was left (the wood, the
stones, the water, the sacrifice – all).
13.
I Kings 18:41 – Man of Prayer, Man of humility – bowed to the
ground. Stayed in a position of humility and prayer until the miracle
came – seven times he prayed.
14.
I Kings 18:45 – 6th Miracle – Rain Came.
15.
I Kings 18:46 – 7th Miracle – He ran about 30 miles and
arrived before the horse and the chariot that Ahab was riding. “The
Hand of the LORD came upon him” – so when I pray for the hand of the
LORD to come upon you it is so you will walk in supernatural strength
and in miracles, signs and wonders.
16.
I Kings 19
17.
I Kings 19:3 – Elijah flees from Jezebel – runs from evil and
death threat.
18.
I Kings 19:5-8 - 8th miracle – Fed by an angel twice (cake and
water) – lived forty days on these two meals. For those of you that
have fasted 40 days you know that you can be sustained by the LORD for a
forty day fast. Moses also had a forty-day fast as did JESUS.
19.
I Kings 19:11-14 – The LORD’s revelation to Elijah – in the
cave. Sometimes we run into the cave
(a secret place in the LORD) to hide from Jezebel (the spirit of
control, manipulation, seduction) to seek the voice of the
LORD GOD, to be encouraged and comforted by HIM. Moses went to the cave to
see the Glory of the LORD.
20.
I Kings 19:15-16 – The LORD’s commission to Elijah – Anoint
Jehu as king over Israel and anoint Elisha as prophet in your place.
True Prophets of GOD are given authority by the LORD to establish
leadership and to establish prophetic voices in the house of the LORD.
21.
I Kings 21
22.
I Kings 21:17-24 – 9th Miracle – Elijah announces doom on
Ahab and Jezebel – It is very easy to get caught up in the “GOD is
going to be Victorious”…..yet knowing that GOD is long-suffering and
will extend HIS mercy over and over and over – often much longer than
we might think HE should….we must step back and trust GOD’s movement
in people’s lives and not move on our own initiative.
23.
I Kings 21:28-29 – 10th Miracle – Elijah promises respite to Ahab because Ahab
humbled himself before the LORD. Still
the curse comes to his son and his household.
24.
I Kings 21:49 – 11th Miracle – Elijah sends letter
proclaiming a plague upon Jehoshaphat, then he and his family died. (II
Chronicles 21:12)
25.
II Kings
26.
II Kings 1:3 – 12th miracle – Elijah predicts Ahaziah’s death through the word of angel.
27.
II Kings 1: 9-14 – 13th and 14th Miracles – Elijah
brings down fire from heaven and 102 people were killed.
28.
II Kings 2 – Revelation of Elijah’s translation –
29.
II Kings 2:8 – 15th Miracle – Elijah parts the river
Jordan with his mantle.
30.
II Kings 2:11 – 16th Miracle – Chariot of fire and horses
of fire came and took Elijah in a whirlwind and his mantle was released
to Elisha.
