Communion

1.           Scripture References: Psalm 22:3, I John 2:27, I Corinthians 2:6-13, John 4:23-24, Luke 10:33-35, Matthew 27:3-10, I Corinthians 10:16-21, Acts 2:42-43, I Corinthians 11:23-34, I Corinthians 5:17, I Corinthians 11:28, II Corinthians 7:1-2, I John 5:7-9, Hebrews 11:6, Romans 14:23, Psalm 51:1-15 and Matthew 26:17-30.

2.          In Psalm 22:3 the Scripture reveals that the praises of Israel enthrone GOD, or that the LORD inhabits the praises of HIS people. When we praise the LORD, HE comes. HE does because HE says HE does. It is not about us, it is about HIM! Praising and worshipping the LORD brings HIS presence. HIS presence changes everything in our lives. HE does not anoint our praises. HE inhabits our praises. (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance - 3427-Inhabits: to dwell, to remain, to continue, to marry.)

3.          It is a daily choice to never leave HIS presence, to press into where HE is at, to chase HIM, to seek HIM, to cling to HIM, to embrace HIM, to hang on tight.

4.           When GOD inhabits our praises, it is not an endorsement of the worship leader, the meeting, the church, the organization, etc. HE will come because it is HIS character to keep HIS word to HIS people. GOD, our FATHER inhabits the praises of HIS people. It is HIS choice. So, it is to be anticipated that when you worship and praise the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY anywhere that HIS presence will come. HE is not endorsing HIS people when they worship HIM. HE inhabits them.

5.           If you are at a place where there is praise but none of HIS presence then it is because HE cannot come. Un-repented sin, false worship (such as carnal or satanic worship), and false (counterfeit or performance) praise- HE does not inhabit. (John 4:23-24)  HE is seeking as with a spot light, a probe light, for those who worship HIM in Spirit and in Truth. It is about your heart towards HIM! A worship leader can lead worship without GOD’s anointing and yet have the presence of the LORD come. (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance – 2213- Seeking: searching).

6.           The Holy Spirit anoints teaching and preaching, not praise. Because GOD’s power is already a part of HIS presence, therefore when HE comes, HIS power comes with HIM. This is a natural part of praising HIM. The reason I pray and ask for HIS anointing before I teach is because I am desperate for HIS anointing to come. Teaching and Preaching are not the same as praising the LORD! (I Corinthians 2:6-13 and I John 2:27)

7.           When the Bible seems dry to you, or a teaching seems dry to you, or a word seems dry to you, ask the LORD to anoint it with HIS HOLY SPIRIT. Anointing Oil is symbolic of the Holy Spirit. When I am sent forth to pray over a land, the reason I pour oil on it is so that the anointing of the LORD, the Holy Spirit will be symbolically poured into the land. The reason I anoint people with anointing oil is because I want the Holy Spirit to be imparted to their soul and spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who comforts, brings truth, brings revelation, brings light, and testifies to the true character of GOD. The anointing oil is to soften the hardened hearts of the people, which usually occurs through the lack of forgiveness, unkindness and unhealed wounds and scars. It is to heal the wounds of the brokenhearted. When the Samaritan stopped by the side of the road to help the wounded man he poured oil and wine on his wounds (Luke 10:33-35).

8.           In the bowl before you, is olive oil. In the Scripture in Matthew when Jesus spoke of the bowl, it was a bowl filled with olive oil for dipping unleavened bread, (a very, dry bread) symbolic of the hardened hearts of the people. The olive oil was to make it more palatable. It would have been common courtesy, common manners of the day not to put your fingers or your hand in the oil….because the bowl of oil would sit on the table for days. So Jesus was not speaking about table manners, HE was speaking about betrayal.

9.           We think betrayal is saying something bad about someone or accusing him or her but it is not, it is much more than that. False accusation is not betrayal. And criticism is not betrayal. Criticism is not a Biblical word. It is defined by Webster’s as “judging disapprovingly, finding fault with censure, condemning, denouncing.” There is no such thing as “constructive criticism.” Constructive means to “build and put parts together” and criticism is about “tearing apart or tearing down.”

10.       So what is betrayal?

11.       In Matthew 26:23 the word hand means “the hand that grasps power” (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance – 5495) therefore, the sentence literally says: “He who dipped his hand (his grasping power) with (meaning neither close nor far away- actually lukewarm) ME (the Son of Man/JESUS CHRIST) in the dish (the bowl filled with oil and oil represents anointing) will betray ME. The one who puts his grasping power into the anointing with me is lukewarm, not close or sensitive to me and is presuming to use the power that I have for his own gain.

12.       What betrayal means is to find a way to give one’s power to another. To find a way to take the authority that I have –the authority that GOD has given to me – and give it to another for that person to rule over me or others.  It is the sin of presumption to take what is not yours (an anointing or an authority of the LORD) and give it to another for your own gain.  Judas got 30 pieces of silver for his act of betrayal. The one who betrays you is usually close to you, knows you, knows your authority and knows your anointing.

13.       It is hard for me to imagine the audacity of Judas to actually put his hand in the bowl, in the anointing of the KING of kings and LORD of lords, the master of the Universe, JESUS CHRIST. Yet we see in many places where people have taken the gifts and talents the LORD has given them and not given HIM any glory for them. We watch pastors who steal from their flocks by manipulation and control. Each of us because we are born with carnal nature has the capacity to betray another.

14.       In this ministry there have been two different women at two different workshops in two different states who have said to me that “I was a fool not to sell the rings, that I could make thousands of dollars.” They took photos of the Glory Rings and said they were going to do what I was “too stupid not to do.” Of course, the LORD did not prosper their words. It has cost me everything to be in this ministry. The easiest thing for me to do was to market this ministry as I had been in direct sales for 25 years. Still after over 1900 Glory Rings have been sent forth, I will not sell the prophetic songs in colors that the Holy Spirit releases through me. The LORD has tested me in this and because I have passed the test and not betrayed HIM, not used HIS anointing in my life for personal gain the LORD continues to anoint and release HIS prophetic songs in colors, types and symbols through me to HIS nations, HIS tribes, HIS people.

15.       Closing Questions: How have you been presumptuous with the King of the Universe? How have you been lukewarm? How have you betrayed HIM? How have you tried to take HIS anointing, HIS power and/or HIS authority for your own gain?  Remember that all sin is against GOD first. If you are hurting another, you are hurting JESUS first. If you choose to ridicule another because of how they worship the KING, then your behavior is like the Pharisees of JESUS day.  These are issues of the heart…it is about your heart!

16.       Read Matthew 26:26-30.

17.       The word communion is defined as “fellowship, interchange of thoughts or interests, a state of giving and receiving, agreement, concord” by Webster’s Dictionary and the Greek word for communion (koinonia) means fellowship, association, community, and joint participation. Specifically in Acts 2:42 meaning fellowship and in I Corinthians 10:16-21 meaning communion

18.        We suggest the following preparation for any believer partaking of the LORD’s supper. a) To be a born-again believer (II Corinthians 5:17) b) To examine oneself (I Corinthians 11:28) c) To repent and confess sins (II Corinthians 7:1-2, I John 5:7-9).

19.    At HIS GLORY REIGNS, we serve communion as demonstrated in the Gospel of Matthew at the last supper of JESUS CHRIST. The communion table is open for you to come and partake of communion with your KING JESUS.  So, please take two pieces of bread.  Dip one piece of bread in the olive oil and dip the other piece in the wine (grape juice in a single goblet). HE alone is worthy. HE gave HIS life willingly for each of us that we might have intimacy with HIS Father, that the Holy Spirit would come, that we would have eternal life with HIM! As we take communion, we receive the new wine, the new oil, the new grain, and the new covenant of JESUS CHRIST! We receive HIS forgiveness for our sins. We receive the fullness of HIS blessings and overt love.
