Basic Training Carl Voorhees © 2003 The LORD is awesome and HE is building HIS church. What I like to see is that HE is building it HIS way. HE is not building it according to the precepts of men. HE values each of us in the position HE has called us. HE brings us each through fires, and each through tribulations and turmoil and HE uses it all for HIS good. The best part about it is that HIS mercy and compassion are forever and that regardless of where we think we are and regardless of what men say you are, JESUS CHRIST loves you and HE is going to have the ultimate word in our lives. That is the redemption of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. It doesn’t matter because I came from fire and I know a lot of people that I minister to in my life and places that the LORD sends me to all of us have issues with man and issues with the devil and him putting his evil hands upon us and causing us corruption through generational bondages or through facts and functions of men in our lives. The reality is that humanity has fallen and that the LORD came and redeemed us from the fall. Ultimately HE is going to restore us all to HIMSELF. All that we have to do is say, “YES LORD”! and so that is where we have all been at. I have been a part of the Vineyard Church in the past, the Four-Square Church, Assemblies of GOD…I am a part of the body of Christ. I just thank GOD that HE is HIS mercy sought me out. I got saved outside the church. I knew the FATHER for many years and the Spirit of GOD through a unique set of circumstances when I was in high school started to teach me to listen to the voice of the LORD. But there was a pivotal day when I came back from college, I said, “I have to know JESUS. FATHER, I know you and I have heard the Spirit of GOD and I understand this situation but I didn’t know JESUS.” I did not have any Scriptural training or Biblical mentoring or anything else but I went up to the mountaintop and asked the FATHER for JESUS. Well, I was farming in Northern California and I had a night vision when JESUS showed up and he started talking to me about who HE was and started outlining the plans for my life. I had just started going to a Lutheran Church and I was wondering, “Is this normal?” and so everyone I talked with said, “No.” So JESUS gave me a detailed scenario that within two weeks from this day that HE was going to bring a hailstorm out of the sky upon my onion crop to show me that HE is truly who, HE said HE was. And HE outlined a few other things that HE was going to do in my life. Well, needless to say, I tried to get hail insurance because I wasn’t sure what this was all about. The Lutheran minister didn’t have a clue. They weren’t sure about the Holy Spirit, they weren’t sure about the devil, they weren’t sure about anything. The insurance company denied the hail insurance because the onions were two small. I had a hundred acres of onions. The onions had to have three leaves before they would insure them, and my onions only had two leaves. As I had never experienced anything like it before, I was uncertain about the night vision. On the day, two weeks later, it was 10:00 on a Saturday Morning and the skies were absolutely clear. My dad, a Retired Major Air Force Command Pilot and I were looking at the atmospheric conditions and I said, “There is No Way!” The moment I said that I felt like someone punched me and I wondered what was going on. So, I began to get a little fearful. So as the morning proceeded, I watched a cloud come out of the ground, slightly north and east of Mount Shasta. And it came up and started rolling and came up this rift valley moving for about a half an hour. I have never seen any cloud formation like it and when it was straight east from me I thought it I am safe, it isn’t coming this way. And it turned 90 degrees heading straight towards me. It came over my onion field and hailed. Welcome to JESUS CHRIST! That was something that I could not deny and what the Spirit of GOD had taught me the whole process was publicly like an Old-Testament experience with the LORD that I could not explain or talk with anyone about it for years. So, when I began studying the Scriptures, learning Biblically what to do, HOW to be come obedient to HIS directions and being lead by the Spirit, then I realized that the FATHER brings you to the SON and then the SON returns you back to the FATHER. So that is what happened in my life. It would have been nice to know and understand the process and timing of the LORD before it happened. A lot of times the LORD does something as a witness in our lives before we have the understanding or knowledge of it. Anyhow, this is how I met JESUS. What happened with the hailstorm is that the question is “Now what do you do?” I wasn’t sure what the LORD was going to do. I wasn’t sure if angels were going to show up or what. I have seen angels and I watched them. They have picked up my cars before in traffic accidents and I have had all kinds of experiences with Angels. The process is that the LORD loves us enough to do what it is HE is going to do for us. HE is going to establish HIS witness unto us so that we have a unique testimony. We overcome by the BLOOD of the Lamb and the word of OUR testimony. So that we will become like the Scriptures says that those who believe these signs following them, laying hands on the sick, casting out devils, speaking in new tongues, and eating poisonous things and not be affected by them. This reality is just the witness that you know the LORD. Most of us are trying to become ministers or trying to become something special in the Body of Christ, but what HE wants is for us to know HIM, because then nothing is withheld from you. The fivefold ministry prepares the body of Christ to minister, not to themselves, but to the rest of the people. And that is an important part. The LORD is preparing us in this generation to reach the world, the nations. And that might start with your next-door neighbor or it might start across the street. The process is that you need to be asking, seeking and knocking and in that process the LORD will show up. I was asked to witness on the streets in Klamath Falls with the Assembly of GOD and I could not bring the people back to the church. The LORD would not allow me to just invite them to church on Sunday, HE wanted me to pray with them and demonstrate to them who JESUS CHRIST is. And my process of the witnessing prayer was here is what we are going to pray, if JESUS CHRIST will manifest Himself to you, then the hook is in you, to perform for HIM not for me, so that the fear of the LORD will become evident in your life and that is the beginning of Wisdom. So my prayer with them was, “LORD JESUS if you are real show yourself to me and I will follow you all the rest of the days of my life.” And that is a very simple prayer, but the Spirit of the GOD harkens to that kind of prayer and these people became not just saved but followers of JESUS CHRIST. There is a difference between believers and disciples. When you become a disciple you know your GOD because you are following HIM not someone who brought you to HIM. Disciples follow the Spirit of the LORD who is leading you into all righteousness not just as what men say. And that is the process with people who are establishing their own ministries on the planet, they bring you to themselves, but very rarely do they bring you to JESUS CHRIST. So you end up following the dictates and precepts of men, the doctrines of the denomination instead of casting your cares upon HIM. The Scriptures say that you are to cast your care upon HIM and HE that cares for you and will abundantly provide for you. Your mindsets will be changed because HE will tell you what is good and HE will make and give you the desires of your heart, which is translated that HE will place HIS desires within your heart so that heart becomes and searches after HIS desires. That is ultimate peace and ultimate security. So the processes of the LORD are very unique and there is war that is coming to the religious church and the LORD is going to defend HIMSELF and HIS people. HE is going to make HIMSELF known with signs, wonders and miracles. The body of Christ is being changed. We are all being transformed into the image of HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST, and that is what we are after. Individually to know HIM, individually to understand HIM and individually to be lead by the SPIRIT, then we will become corporate. Then the eye won’t say to the toe, we have no need of you. Each will realize their place, their purpose, their position and their function in the body of CHRIST. We will begin to flow in true unity, compassionate acts and agape love corporately with the demonstration of the LORD’s ministry confirming signs and wonders. Signs and wonders always follow. That is a key. JESUS CHRIST is LORD and signs and wonders follow not precede HIS own. The LORD knows that it is an incredible process. How HE wants us to move and wants us to act is by HIS direction. I encourage everyone here to say, “LORD MORE, I lay my understanding down, I lay my anger and disappointment with the body of Christ down. I lay down my own anger and disappointment with myself and say LORD heal me, prepare me, live in me, reside in me, change me.” When HE changes you, then you have something from the LORD to give something away. Many people are praying for others when they have not received anything from the LORD to begin with and they are giving away nothing. You will see power and might come when you have given yourself to the LORD and HE resides in you. Then you have something tangible to give. You can bless somebody as HE directs you and it will actually mean something. So as we give ourselves to the LORD, HE is faithful to come into us, come into us and have fellowship. I have had encounters with the LORD, in visions, praying before meetings, and being taken up. Do I subscribe that everyone has to go that way? No, I didn’t choose it. I didn’t choose the hailstorm. I didn’t choose angels picking up my cars to avoid being involved in accidents. A couple of times when HE was processing me, HE asked, “Are you so ashamed of me not to cry out for help?” My brother and his wife were sitting next to me and we were going sideways on the ice into this car. The LORD spoke to me, “Are you ashamed to speak my name out loud?” I said, “Well yes, I am, what are they going to think, they will think I am a religious fanatic.” HE said, “Is that better than being hit?” And I am thinking, oh man, I am not sure. So I yelled, “HELP ME JESUS!” And at that moment on ice our car stopped and went sideways against the flow, we were going about 40 miles per hour. And boom! we stopped immediately! I looked for the truck that was coming at my door and it was out in the field. Like Now! I looked at my brother and he said, “What happened?” And I said, “Well, JESUS moved.” The angels were waiting and harkening to my response to HIM. I did not know if HE was going to do anything. I did not have a clue. I just knew HE dealt with me about speaking HIS name out loud. You really don’t have it until you ask for it! I ask the LORD for help at all times. I was the President of the Congregation in a Lutheran Church that I attended and since the Lutheran stance at that time speaking in tongues was not acceptable, it was one of those things they say that passed away with knowledge. We used to pray and all the lights in the church in the building would swing in unison. We began praying for the sick and people were being healed and we watched blind eyes being opened. The Lutheran Church sent a man from Seattle to Klamath Falls to straighten us out! There are still denominational realms right now that say that tongues does not exist, that deliverance does not exist, that healing does not exist. Ask HIM to show you who HE is and you will find out. JESUS CHRIST really came in the FLESH and the reality is that I don’t have to convert you or change you HE will. The truth will make you free. And JESUS CHRIST is the Way, the Truth and the Life. And there is only one doorway and it is HIM ! So, HE is going to come in these next years to show every person that HE IS and HE is going to make it without a doubt, that people cannot deny HIM. HE is coming to the youth specifically. The YOUTH! When I was in Toronto in 1994 – I just went up there to have a good time and see what the LORD was doing and I ended up ministering with the leaders of the meetings. We would pray for people and suddenly there would be 900 people on the floor unconscious. Healing and deliverance beyond our reality. It was JESUS! Anointing is job specific. When you ask to be used by the Spirit for HIS Glory and HE gives you the anointing then you are equipped to do what HE says for you to do. I ministered to the youth from Germany, France, and England. It was incredible to watch them. They also prayed for me and prophesied over me. The reality is that GOD is touching the youth, and that is anyone 30 and younger. I have four sons, ages 16-23, and HE is beginning to dynamically change them. Not because of me, I just spoke the truth to them and prayed over them. They have had supernatural encounters with the power of GOD. And it is one of those things that convinced me about demons. My oldest son when he was a year and a half, he was sick. I was holding him in my arms and the LORD spoke to me to pray for him. And I said, “Pray what?” And HE directed me how to pray and what to cast out. So, my son was fighting in my arms, and I cast this thing out in JESUS name, and I felt it leave. My son looks up at me who is just barely talking and says, “Better Daddy!” That really shook some reality into me because now I am responsible for what HE is showing me and teaching me. And that is one of my fortes’, not that I CHOSE it, but that HE gave it to me. The reality is that GOD sends me into spiritual battles and has equipped me in spiritual warfare for twenty-some years. I have been going for it! Whatever the LORD shows me to do, whatever HE tells me to do, I do it. A lot of people have written a lot of books about spiritual warfare and deliverance. It is not about a method, it is about obeying JESUS! Top and bottom line! Get to know JESUS! You don’t have to jump through hoops! You don’t have to do anything else except become a disciple of JESUS! HE will show you what to do and what to say and when to say it. HE is all you need! The devils will do anything they can to keep you in fear. Once you begin to understand the Name of JESUS CHRIST, and who HE is and what HE is about! When HE speaks to you and shows you what to speak and do, then do that and you will see things change. And if what you think is supposed to happen, doesn’t then (as your mind is being renewed by the washing of the water of the WORD) stay and pray until you hear the Spirit of GOD. Then it will happen! It has never not happened for me in all these years. There are some things that you will not get access to pray for. There are certain people that I cannot pray for. I have to be led by the Holy Spirit. There are some diseases that it is not their time for healing. GOD is using some circumstances in our life as refining fire. Sometimes the LORD is sending someone else to pray for them or to bring a word to them. You have to hear the Spirit of GOD direct you specifically. When you have the eye of the LORD and the ear of the LORD, when you hear and obey, then what you pray about, speak to, touch, cast out - things will move. Then the body of Christ will gain a reputation for being accurate. JESUS CHRIST is LORD! Whatever it is that you have understanding in, ask for more. MORE LORD! I want relationship with JESUS! Don’t you want to see JESUS walking among you? Being led by the Spirit of GOD is having the Spirit of GOD speak to you. Christianity is relational not positional. It doesn’t matter who sits in the front. It matters who walks in obedience to HIS voice. It is not about who is in charge, it is about the movement of HIS Spirit and presence and power. There is no competition in the Kingdom of GOD. There is one KING! Everyone else is in HIS service – GOD the FATHER! If you will notice in the Scriptures that JESUS set up HIS FATHER’s Kingdom, not HIS own. And our example was to do exactly what HE did. Hear what the Spirit of GOD said, and did what OUR Father showed HIM. Ask, Seek and Knock is about the establishment of HIS Kingdom on earth! You have to be convinced in your heart before you can share. You have to have water in your cup before you can give someone else a drink. If you own it, you can give it away. Glory to GOD! I will just pray with you. FATHER, I thank you in the name of JESUS CHRIST that YOUR purpose and YOUR power and YOUR presence rest and reside here. I ask you LORD GOD that you move in every person here. That you move across this whole area of Gresham. That your Spirit O GOD will rest and move upon these people. That your fullness O GOD will be manifested to them. That they be washed by the waters of your Word. That they would come to knowledge and understanding with guided insights. That you would lead them in the paths of righteousness for Your Name’s Sake and Glorify Your Son in and through each of them. I speak life. I speak understanding. I speak an end to confusion and misrepresentation that they would know and understand Your Love for them. In JESUS Name! That fear would go away in JESUS NAME and that faith and trust in You LORD would come forth, in JESUS NAME. I thank you LORD. Have Your Way!
