Does God Remember You?

A couple of days ago I was pondering before the LORD. Inquiring about the next season, wondering about the last season.

The Holy Spirit brought the Scripture in Jeremiah 29:11 to mind: For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

Then I picked up a booklet on the living room table: TIME PASSAGES COMMEMORATIVE YEAR BOOK - 1951.

(A few months ago, the LORD provided two copies of Time Passages 1951 - one for me and one for my twin sister.)

This morning, I turned to the page that highlighted January 19, 1951 - "From the Hit Parade: The #1 song in the U.S. is "The Tennessee Waltz" by Patti Page. It has been in the #1 position since December 16th, 1950 and will remain there until March 3rd."  My twin sister and I were due the first week of March and arrived six weeks early on January 19, 1951. She was baby "A" and I was baby "B" ....12 minutes apart.

The Holy Spirit brought to remembrance my first ministry trip to Tennessee in October 1999. Now, that seems like a lifetime ago.  Earlier that year, in May 1999, I met DorotheLee Withers and Joyce Breazeale at an NW Aglow Retreat on the Oregon Coast. They invited me to Tennessee to minister at a conference in October. During the trip, Joy's roommate, Helen Boring took me on a tour of Nashville and the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. We visited all the famous places and some of the not-so-famous places. One of the famous places was obviously this magnificent hotel. Helen and I walked through the vast 9 acre resort praying and anointing the land, water and buildings with anointing oil. This was the very first anointing oil that the Holy Spirit had ever asked me to make: "HIS Oil of Joy". We specifically prayed that Christian Conferences be held in that place!

At the close of the day, we stopped at a restaurant and ordered special drinks in "Tennessee Waltz" glasses. Helen generously gave me her glass not knowing that I had a twin sister, not knowing I was born on January 19 and not knowing the Tennessee Waltz was the Hit Parade at the time of my birth. For six years, those two "Tennessee Waltz" glasses have set on a shelf in my office as a visual to remind me to pray for Tennessee.

Last month, I was privileged to serve as a part of the VIP Escort Team at the Aglow International Conference at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee with 5000 other Christians from 103 nations. That is a miracle!

Often, as intercessors, we pray and we pray and we pray...on a rare occasion we are allowed the privilege to see the answer to our prayer unfold before our very eyes. This was one of those rare occasions.

In coming home and reflecting on the many miracles witnessed in Tennessee by the angelic host as well as the human host ... I am in awe of the plans and purposes of God.

HE knew when I was born that I would be going to Tennessee (many times)....HE knew the plans HE had for me...

And HE knows the plans HE has for you.

My hope and prayer is that you will be encouraged for HIS GLORY! Often in the depths of intercession and standing in the gap it is easy to wonder if God has remembered you....the truth is HE has never forgotten you....not even for a second.

As you seek HIS face, trust HIS love, rest in HIS goodness, receive HIS blessings.....you will see even more the plans HE has for you are for a future and a hope! Perhaps even a dance has been reserved for you.....a Tennessee Waltz.
